We have developed a Competency Management System which we use to manage the technical competence development of our staff in preparedness and response roles from beginner to advanced level. This covers the first four to five years of a technical career in LEB Logistics B.V.
Beyond the job roles within our Competency Management System, our staff can apply their technical skills in a number of roles. Many staff move into supervisory and managerial positions; others begin to develop specialised knowledge and expertise in particular disciplines – for example shoreline response or surveillance, modeling and visualisation (SMV).
LEB Logistics B.V. developed a framework which allows us to manage the development of deep technical expertise in these specialised disciplines, giving individuals space to become subject matter experts and in turn contributing to furthering knowledge internally and in the wider industry. In fact, we have trained and prepared many experts for the industry, with 40% of our employees who leave OSRL, joining member companies
